Full Story:
Devfoundry Software, a leading provider of SIP diagnostic tools for Enterprise, OEMs and Service Providers, today announces the release of VoIP Monitor 1.7, the latest version of its flagship call monitoring and diagnostics solution for SIP enabled hardware and networks. The new release includes real-time email alerting of quality problems, increased capacity, and a version that comes as a white-label hardware appliance.

"We are very excited to bring you version 1.7" says Athir Nuaimi, President of Devfoundry Software. "VoIP Monitor’s key benefit has always been about solving VoIP/FoIP problems faster. This new release takes things to the next level”. One of VoIP Monitor’s key new enhancements is the ability to generate real-time email alerts for quality problems detected with voice and fax calls. The tool performs real-time MOS scoring for audio calls and analyses the t.30 protocol of fax calls. While this proactive alerting ensures that support teams are quickly made aware of any quality problems, it is equally important that they have the necessary call data in order to solve them. This is an area where VoIP Monitor has always differentiated itself from other diagnostic tools. Rather than just doing the analysis, VoIP Monitor also performs continuous data capture for all calls. This means that the data for all the calls is being recorded in real-time. This ensures that support teams are not only notified when VoIP problems occur, but also have access to the complete call data for each of the problem calls. This is a radical approach that goes a long way to reducing the mean time to solution for problems.

In addition to the new features, VoIP Monitor 1.7 is also now available as a white-branded hardware appliance. "Building VoIP Monitor into an appliance made a lot of sense for many of the support teams and integrators that we are now working with" says Nuaimi. "This not only removes the uncertainty of having to procure the necessary hardware themselves, but also provides them with a portable, shoebox-sized device that they can deliver under their name to solve customer problems". The new version of VoIP Monitor has also been scaled to handle larger levels of traffic. VoIP Monitor 1.7 is now able to capture up to 300 concurrent audio calls and up to an entire DS3 (672) worth of fax calls.

While VoIP Monitor is primarily know for its robust use as a call diagnostics and SLA monitoring tool, the solution is also a simple call recorder and CDR generation utility. VoIP Monitor comes with inbuilt remote access functionality, and is ideal for use as an offsite or last-mile probe for support teams.

VoIP Monitor is platform agnostic and works with any premise equipment or hosted solution that uses SIP. Service providers, OEMs and Enterprise users most commonly use VoIP Monitor to:

• Generate call data continuously
• Store data historically
• Generate call data in high call traffic environments
• Generate offsite or last mile data
• Alert to declines in QoS
• Reproduce audio and fax pages
• Generate CDRs

VoIP Monitor 1.7 is available for Windows, Linux, or as a hardware appliance.
